About the Founder

Louie Delaware - President & Founder

Louie is passionate about helping professionals make homes as safe and accessible as possible. His knack for being able to describe home safety issues in easy-to-understand terms comes after 22 years in the field of research and development for technological, medical, and analytical devices along with computer disk drives. He has been awarded many different patents and received the prestigious International R&D 100 award for Advanced Technologies.

A licensed Class B general contractor, Louie has been involved in many kitchen and bath remodels as well as basement finishes. In 2004, Louie then moved on to professional childproofing where he has helped over families make their homes safer for their most precious individuals. He has been involved in childproofing over 3,800 homes and helped countless others with mitigating their homes of radon gas, a carcinogenic gas found in many homes. Louie has also been involved in making many homes more accessible, healthy and safer use for older adults and physically challenged individuals.

A father of two children, Louie has first-hand experience when it comes to what works (and what more importantly what doesn’t) in home safety. He also had older parents who lived in the same home for nearly 50 years, and each had their own challenges as they got older.

Louie is a national safety expert for TV news and radio programs, along with many newspapers (including USA Today®), where he is known as The Home Safety Guru®.

Louie is also a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Kitchen + Bath Business Magazine and was recognized by the Kitchen & Bath Design News magazine as one of the 50 2019 Innovators.
