She is also the founder of the LivABLE Environment Conference; Canada’s first annual event supporting B2B in the residential sector.
With over thirty years of experience in marketing, Linda is the consummate marketing and sales professional. Her past experience includes global expertise in the promotion and sale of Canadian products in Europe, owning and operating a successful printing/graphic design business and working in the industrial auction sector. With a passion for architecture and marketing, it was not surprising that these two world’s came together as she moved along her career. Today you will find her passionately speaking about the importance of creating spaces for everyone regardless of age, size or ability!
Linda’s career moved towards the built environment in 2009, when she took on the challenge of re-vitalizing the permanent furniture showroom spaces at the International Centre. Her vision was to create a unique hub and embrace the interior design sector. As the Marketing and Managing Director she recognized the opportunity to apply her knowledge, skills, and innovative approach to create an educational hub that supported independent designers through continuing education programing, events and networking. She was the driving force in building an accessible community for interior designers to connect with other professionals and industry product suppliers. With over 40 Canadian and International home furnishings and appliance showrooms, the facility, originally known as SOFA: Source of Furniture and Accessories, emerged not only as an educational platform but as a design showcase for inspirational ideas, trends and solutions for the trade.
It was in 2013 when Linda first started to work in the Aging in Place sector by hosting Certified Aging in Place Specialist training programs, CEU educational and networking events covering various topics. Recently Linda was asked to speak at the Aging In America Conference. She is a member of American Society of Aging (ASA), National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), Decorating and Design Association of Canada (DDA). As of September 2019 she became CLIPP Certified and is proud to be one of two Canadian CLIPP Ambassadors!
