RECOGNIZED PRODUCT PROGRAM 


TERMS & CONDITIONS
  1. Introduction to the Living In Place Institute Recognized Product (LIPI-RP) Program
    1. The LIPI-RP Program provides formal recognition of specific products that help make all homes more accessible and safer.
    2. The LIPI-RP Program is based on the Living In Place Institute principles of accessibility, comfort, and safety and incorporates the principles of universal design created by the North Carolina State University Center for Universal Design.
    3. Each company’s (Company) product will be judged by the Selection Committee of Certified Living In Place Professionals™ and all decisions are final.
    4. Awarding of the title, Living In Place Institute Recognized Product is at the sole discretion of the Living In Place Institute.
    5. The LIPI-RP Program has been created, is administered by, and is the property of the Living In Place Institute.
 
  1. Benefits to Company
    1. Create product differentiation for professionals and consumers.
    2. Cause-related marketing
    3. Promotion by the Living In Place Institute
      1. The Living In Place Institute website will list Company on a dedicated LIPI website page, including links to the Company website landing page, pre-approved by the Living In Place Institute.
      2. Possible inclusion into the Certified Living In Place Professional™ course manual.
      3. New Recognized Products will be announced through the Living In Place Institute newsletter or on one or more social media platforms.
      4. At major conferences, the Living In Place Institute will have signage highlighting the LIPI-RP Program.
      5. Potential inclusion of some LIPI-RPs in articles written by the Living In Place Institute for publication.
 
  1. Submission, Approval, Renewal, and Termination
    1. Submission:
      1. Company will submit a product for consideration to: (to be announced)
      2. The LIPI-RP Selection Committee may request physical samples of specific products prior to evaluation.
      3. If Company would like these products returned, a pre-paid shipping label will need to be supplied with the product.
      4. The fee for submission is $199 (limited time introductory fee) per product. Once the product has been submitted, the Living In Place Institute Recognized Product Selection Committee will review the product. Note: This fee is subject to change.
    2. Approval:
      1. The decision of the Recognized Product Selection Committee is final.
      2. Products approved from January 1 through June 30 shall be valid until June 30 of the following year.
      3. Products approved from July 1 through December 31 shall be valid until December 31 of the following year.
    3. Renewal:
      1. Recognized Product Has No Changes –$50 renewal fee per product. Note: This fee is subject to change.
      2. Recognized Product Has Changes – A new submission is required and subject to current policies and fees.
    4. Termination:
      1. If Company misuses the program, LIPI shall notify the Company in writing and if not rectified to the satisfaction of all parties within 10 calendar days, Approval shall be withdrawn.
 
  1. Marketing
    1. For approved products, Company may promote the product(s) in the following manners:
      1. Company shall create a unique landing page subject to LIPI approval, with LIPI-RP logo, and approved products shown or referenced.
      2. Print and Electronic Non-Social Collateral (including but not limited to catalogs, brochures, fliers, etc.):
        1. The Living In Place Institute Recognized Product logo shall be on the same page as the product and be as close as possible to the product.
        2. On the same page the wording The Living In Place Institute™ Recognized Product and associated Logo are property of the Living In Place Institute, LLC, and only granted to products judged to meet stringent criteria established by the Living In Place Institute.
      3. Electronic Material – Social (including but not limited to catalogs, newsletters, social media postings, etc.)
        1. The Living In Place Institute™ Recognized Product logo shall be as close as possible to the product.
        2. Near the product or at the bottom of the same electronic page or posting the wording The Living In Place Institute™ Recognized Product and associated Logo are property of the Living In Place Institute, LLC, and is only granted to products judged to meet the Living In Place Institute Recognized Product program shall be listed.
      4. Showrooms & Exhibition Halls
        1. All signage shall include the Living In Place Institute Recognize Product Logo as close as possible to the product.
        2. Near the product or at the bottom of the signage the wording The Living In Place Institute™ Recognized Product and associated Logo are property of the Living In Place Institute, LLC, and is only granted to products judged to meet stringent criteria established by the Living In Place Institute.
    2. Marketing Collateral Approval
      1. To ensure compliance with appropriate usage of the term Living In Place Institute Recognize Product and its associated logo, all materials must be submitted to the Living In Place Institute at RecognizedProduct@LivingInPlace.Institute for approval prior to release.
    3. Signage available from the Living In Place Institute
      1. Table top signs, two-sided acrylic holder with Inserts – 6” wide x 4” tall.
      2. These are available at $20 each, minimum 5. Includes shipping to one address within the US (International shipping extra cost).






 
  1. Legal
    1. Company holds the Living In Place Institute, it’s officers, heirs and assigns harmless for all issues related to the application, approval, renewal, and all other issues as a direct or indirect result of LIPI-RP Program.
